The structure the Tumaini Village and each family there is designed in accordance with the biblical model for a family. Each of our six families have their own cottage for which they are responsible. Each cottage is headed by a man and wife who have strong testimonies of a trusting faith in Christ and are not new believers. Additionally they both must be able to speak, read, and write English as well as Swahili. The bible is taught daily in each home and each home has daily devotions as well as prayer.
The children all share in chores and taught personal responsibility. Each cottage has a garden in which it is the house father's responsibility to teach each child how to grow food. While our goal is for each child to reach his or her highest calling both spiritually and intellectually we believe that as a base case they should all be able to feed themselves.
